Chamber Echoes – February 2018

Our general meeting was held February 12 at Applebee’s in Shirley and was very well attended with some new members and members that had not previously come to meetings. We started our 50/50 Ace of Spades raffle which will continue until a winner draws out the Ace of Spades. Only $5.00 per ticket to join in and will be available every meeting.

Lunch with Legislator Rudy Sunderman

Newly elected Suffolk County Legislator Rudy Sunderman was our guest speaker and he spoke about some of the things on his agenda. A few of the topics that were addressed are the “zombie homes” in the area, the fatal accident that occurred recently on William Floyd Pkwy, and the fact that we need an additional railroad crossing in the area.

Members got to ask questions and voice their concerns directly with the Legislator.

Many Other Business & Community Events

We also discussed our upcoming events, including our Easter Egg-stravaganza (date to be announced soon), a Joint-Chamber Dinner Meeting at Coral Restaurant in East Moriches on April 9th, the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce Coalition Dinner on April 17th at Windows on the Lake in Lake Ronkonkoma, and our 5th Annual Fundraising Dinner on April 25th at Mill Pond Golf Course. At the BCCC dinner the Small Business Improvement Award will be given out – a $1,200.00 award to a small business that’s a member of a participating chamber.

See You Next Month!

We look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting! Join us at the Moriches Bay Diner on March 12th at 6:00pm.
