Chamber Installs American Flags on Montauk Highway

On April 16th, the Chamber of Commerce of the Mastics & Shirley had 50 American flags installed along Montauk Highway through Mastic and Shirley. By now you have probably seen how wonderful and patriotic these flags make this busy corridor through our towns look. This was phase 1 of the project. Phase 2 will begin soon and will continue west of the Kohl’s shopping center and east of Herkimer Street.

The flags will be hung each year from just before Memorial Day through September 11th. We have plans to hang festive holiday banners on the poles during the winter months. More on that soon!

A Special Thanks to East End Sign Design & Mastic Fire Department

We are so happy that we have been able to give this gift to our community. We must thank Joe Colucci, owner of East End Sign Design and his crew, Jerry Smith, Nick Arnau and Anthony Scalise, for the wonderful job they did of installing the flags. We must also thank the Mastic Fire Department Fire Police, Gary Lombardo and Fred Stalker, for the traffic control they provided. Most of all we have to thank our Director, Keith Paul of Electric Bricks, who has worked for over a year to finally get us to the point of getting the flags installed.
