On April 16th, the Chamber of Commerce of the Mastics & Shirley had 50 American flags installed along Montauk Highway through Mastic and Shirley. By now you have probably seen how wonderful and patriotic these flags make this busy corridor through our towns look. This was phase 1 of the project. Phase 2 will begin […]
For everyone who lives and works in the Mastic-Shirley area, please keep an eye out for a big change coming to our towns. The Chamber has been working hard for almost a year on a project that will finally be coming to fruition. We’re extremely excited and can’t wait for everyone to see what’s coming! […]
First, we’ like to thank Jim Tullo, Deputy Director of the Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency, for speaking at this month’s meeting. It was very informative, especially considering the huge economic impact the new sewer district in our area will have. We’d also like to thank Chamber member Zackary Will of Paychex for giving us a […]
As we prepare for the 49th Annual Christmas Parade, to be held this Sunday, December 9th, we’d like to take a moment to that one of our “Shining Star” sponsors – Heidenberg Properties. You probably know them better as the South Port Shopping Center. In addition to being a major financial sponsor of our parade, they […]
The Chamber of Commerce of the Mastics & Shirley is happy to announce that we have just installed a new 9-foot menorah and a 14-foot Christmas tree (actually 17 feet with the star on top!) on the south-east corner of William Floyd Parkway and Montauk Highway by the statue of William Floyd. These decorations will […]
Members of the community are invited to attend a public information session on the Forge River Watershed Sewer Project. These September 20 events will be held at the Mastic Fire Department and be hosted by Suffolk County Legislator Rudy Sunderman and the Suffolk County Department of Public Works. There will be two identical “open houses”. […]
This month’s general meeting was held on Monday, June 11th at the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge, located at 40 Smith Road in Shirley, NY. It was a real pleasure to have a meeting at such a beautiful venue and many members were in attendance. The Chamber provided a free lunch to all who came.
We had a great meeting May 14th at the Moriches Bay Diner. Kevin O’Brien & Glenn Graham presented their plans for 3 Mobil stations that they have in the planning stages. Two are existing and one will be newly constructed. They are all planned to have a mini-mart and will be newly refurbished.
Our March 12th general meeting was held at Moriches Bay Diner where members enjoyed a delicious dinner from a prix fixe menu. Turnout was a bit lighter than normal but still good considering the impending snow storm. It was another great opportunity for local business people to get together and do a little networking.
Our general meeting was held February 12 at Applebee’s in Shirley and was very well attended with some new members and members that had not previously come to meetings. We started our 50/50 Ace of Spades raffle which will continue until a winner draws out the Ace of Spades. Only $5.00 per ticket to join […]
