This Year’s Theme of the MBMIFF is “Celebration of Grit”

Festival goers will get to experience productions that extol hard work, strength, and courage, and leave feeling inspired, hopeful, and spirited.

Over the course of the weekend we will screen select films, engage in industry talk backs, celebrate local artists, and dance the night away to live music.

Festival Head Quarters, Check-in and Lounge will be at 373 Neighborhood Road next to Linsa Torr’s. Sunday morning programming will also be held at the HQ location.

Festival Screenings will be held on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday. Sunday we are offering and Italian dinner and a movie at the Property Owner’s Association with the GRIT OF HERITAGE featuring Richard Vetere. He will be screening Where are we now: The Italian American Today and The Kids Menu starring Vincent Pastore.

JAMES EVANS is a filmmaker from Mastic Beach, NY. He received his BA in economics from Fordham University. Upon graduating he heard the call to become a visual storyteller, a passion he has had for his entire life. As an MFA candidate at SBU/Killer Films he has realized six short films: Julie and Kay, My House, Call Me, Beautiful, Brennen, Good Grief, and Whiskey Kills the Hunger. In addition to teaching film at SBU, he has also compiled an extensive writing portfolio ranging from a television spec script to multiple feature films.
