Last month’s meeting was held on September 10th at the Mastic Fire Department and was attended by our chamber members as well as other members of the community.
Dealing with The Issues In Front of Us
Suffolk County Legislator Rudy Sunderman first installed new officers Lisa Hogan of LMH Certified Public Accountant, PC and Dexter Arthur of Shirley Veterinary Hospital. Then Legislator Sunderman discussed the issue of community beautification. He made it clear that they are taking a hard line and going to businesses and addressing that they keep their buildings looking good.
Members of the community are invited to attend a public information session on the Forge River Watershed Sewer Project. These September 20 events will be held at the Mastic Fire Department and be hosted by Suffolk County Legislator Rudy Sunderman and the Suffolk County Department of Public Works. There will be two identical “open houses”. We have scheduled one in the morning/afternoon
and one in the evening
so everyone can attend. This will be an excellent opportunity for residents, businesses and others to learn about the latest developments and ask all their questions directly to project team members.
This month’s general meeting
was held on Monday, June 11th at the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge
, located at 40 Smith Road in Shirley, NY. It was a real pleasure to have a meeting at such a beautiful venue and many members were in attendance. The Chamber provided a free lunch to all who came.
We had a great meeting May 14th at the Moriches Bay Diner. Kevin O’Brien & Glenn Graham presented their plans for 3 Mobil stations that they have in the planning stages. Two are existing and one will be newly constructed. They are all planned to have a mini-mart and will be newly refurbished.
Our March 12th general meeting was held at Moriches Bay Diner where members enjoyed a delicious dinner from a prix fixe menu. Turnout was a bit lighter than normal but still good considering the impending snow storm. It was another great opportunity for local business people to get together and do a little networking.
Our general meeting was held February 12 at Applebee’s in Shirley
and was very well attended with some new members and members that had not previously come to meetings. We started our 50/50 Ace of Spades raffle which will continue until a winner draws out the Ace of Spades. Only $5.00 per ticket to join in and will be available every meeting.
